Doritos & Mountain Dew Team-Up For A Massive Xbox One X Giveaway
To celebrate the launch of Microsoft’s new console, Doritos and Mountain Dew announced that they will host an Xbox One X Giveaway every 60 seconds.
Yes, you’ve read that right! Every minute, some lucky winner will be granted an Xbox One X video game console as part of a marketing promotion held by Doritos and Mountain Dew. Similar giveaways have already been held in the past, but this one is quite appealing. The giveaway will take place in November, the same month as the console’s release.
Although the contest itself takes place in November, interested individuals are invited to start earning points towards the contest. Below are the three key points:
- Collect: This entire season, fans can collect select packages of Mountain Dew and Doritos products. This includes the brand-new Mountain Dew Game Fuel Arctic Burst and Tropical Smash. These will grant you codes towards the online auction.
- Bank Codes: As of September 25th, 2017, fans can start banking points on website Every60Seconds.com. Slowly, you can start accumulating entries into the daily Xbox One X sweepstakes.
- Bid to Win: Starting November 8th and lasting until December 15th, 2018, it will be possible to spend the accumulated points to participate in the daily auctions. Auctions are set to start at 9 A.M and will end at 11:30 P.M. Every minute, on the minute, a winner will be announced. This means around 10 winners per day during an entire week will have a chance to win an Xbox One X console.
“The DEW and Doritos gaming platform has become a staple of the gaming community, and as we looked back on some of the best programs we’ve done together, the online auction with Xbox stands out. We’re excited to be bringing back the auction in a new way, and giving our fans a chance to get their hands on the hotly-anticipated Xbox One X.” – Chauncey Hamlett, Senior Director of Marketing, Mountain Dew
A New Doritos Series!
In correlation to the giveaway, new gaming-themed Doritos chips have been spotted on the official Doritos Mexico page. The new Xbox Doritos series include Halo Nacho, Halo Diablo, Gears of War 4 Incognita, Gears of War 4 Flamin’ Hot, Forza Pizzerolas and Forza 3Ds. Also, a new ‘Green’ Xbox One X Power Up bag has surfaced on social media, with no information about its release in the United States or Canada. CogConnected.com claims that the person who shared the picture says it tastes like grilled jalapeño peppers. I personally hope they have a hint of guacamole in them.
Details regarding the rules and regulations, as well as other specifics such as localization limitations, have yet to be shared. Contests like these often exclude Quebec residents for participating, which really is a shame. I have reached out to both Doritos and Mountain Dew to learn more about the rules and regulations. As per their customer service, more information will be unveiled on October 10th.
Stay tuned as we share more information as it comes in.
