Nintendo: Go Red Or Go Home
Nintendo’s original logo was always red if we remember correctly and since the Wii era, it had changed to grey. The Big N returns to its roots?
Indeed, Nintendo is changing its logo back to the original red but with a twist. The logo used to be red on a white background, but the new color scheme uses those same colors, but inverted. It has a modern look and yet, it does remind us of the good old days.
This sudden change could be more symbolic than it looks. We all know that Nintendo is starting a new chapter with the new and mysterious console code named the NX. This could be a way to tell us all that Nintendo is returning to its old ways of game development and for that to happen, it has to transform into something familiar but refreshing.
This new logo has been applied everywhere including stores, social media accounts and more. Also, if you notice the logo of the new rewards program, My Nintendo, you will see that the logo uses this same bright red background as well. I have to say, I like this look and it is time for Nintendo to change their image a bit and bring about a new era of gaming with NX.
It is also cool to note that this is the first time in a long time where all three major game companies have different color schemes. Looks like we are now left with a Green, Blue and Red team. Oh boy, here come the fan wars!
Do you like this new look for the Big N? Are you young enough to remember the good old red logo from the old days? Or have grown up during the Gray Wii era? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
