Darkrai Confirmed For Pokkén Tournament With More Modes and Balance Patch

The first DLC character for the fighting Pokémon game is finally revealed. The manifestation of nightmares himself will be arriving to the Ferron region.

As many of you had heard, a couple of months ago, a report came up talking about how a group of users datamined the game and found the files on three new Pokémon. There were files named after each of these three Pokémon and one would only assume that these are new fighters set to join the roster promptly. The trio are as follows: Darkrai, Scizor and Empoleon.

Now, officially, we see that one of the three Pokémon on that list has finally been announced as a fighter for the game. Darkrai is already set to be made available on the arcade version of the game. Bandai Namco has yet to unveil when the update will come to the Wii U. Enjoy this reveal trailer for the new Darkrai.

Some new changes to existing characters has also been confirmed. Although the exact changes have yet to be revealed, there is some noticeable changes done to Garchomp, Braixen and Shadow Mewtwo. Shadow Mewtwo was one character that truly needed to some change to differentiate form the regular Mewtwo.

From this trailer, we find that the company has more in store than simply adding in a new character for the game. There is also a new mode called Mission Panel where players can complete unique challenges and test their might. Furthermore, there is yet another new mode to be added in the game. It seems to be some kind of mode made for mobile devices. On the trailer, you see players able to look up other players through their smartphones and customizing their own avatar with some new clothes and more.

As we take a look at the character select screen, we can now see Darkrai taking his spot among the fighters. However, if we follow the thought that Scizor and Empoleon will be taking a spot each too, this actually an extra spot empty. This means a fourth DLC character may be on the way and we have no idea who it may be as of now. That is pretty exciting when you think about it.

Who do you think this fourth Pokémon could be? Let us know who you’re rooting for in the comments below.
