SoulCalibur VI Unveils New Character
The Japanese company Bandai Namco has revealed the new fighter who would join the ranks of the renowned franchise SoulCalibur and we can’t wait for the game to hit the shelves!
SoulCabilur VI will be released sometime this year and the company has already provided us with some new character trailers, released sporadically since December. After getting a glimpse in March at the dark and stormy Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we are now treated with a trailer for Siegfried Schtauffen. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief as one of their most beloved characters is confirmed to appear in this sixth installment.
As the newest confirmed addition to the fighter roster, Siegfried is shown more powerful than ever, accompanied by the caption “A Soul in the Purgatory”. The introductory trailer features him wielding his signature giant sword Requiem as he slashes through the enemies with ease, leaving them little space for retaliation. Some people were starting to doubt whether they would include this SoulCalibur veteran since they had presented the infamous antagonist Nightmare very early on. Bandai Namco was probably only building up the hype, which proved effective.
We can expect a good dose of angst and torment from Siegfried as his origin story reads as follows:
“The memory of having killed his own father is haunting him. His true nightmare has only just begun. Full of regrets, he is looking for redemption and he desperately wants to free himself from the cursed sword’s grasp.”
The Unreal Engine 4 does a gorgeous job at rendering these veteran characters who have been around since 1995 in Soul Edge. They appear lively and dynamic, ready to take on ruthless fights and we cannot wait to ready our steel for this new entry in the series.
Other characters who were officially confirmed include Grøh, Ivy, Kilik, Mitsurugi, Nightmare Sophitia, Xianghua and Zasalamel.
Who will be next?
SouCalibur VI is set out for release in 2018. It will be available for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
