Darksiders II Arena Mode and New Game+
Darksiders II is less than two weeks away from its release here, in North America. Today, it was revealed that the game will feature an arena mode that will unlock as Death proceeds on his quest. This arena-style mode is known as “Crucible Mode”.
As stated before, Crucible Mode will unlock at some point, as you progress through the game. This mode features plenty of stages, where you will battle seemingly infinite rounds of enemies. With every enemy you encounter in the main campaign, more stages and enemies will become available in the Crucible Mode.
It is said that this mode is unmerciful and that only the best of the best can survive the slaughter. However, this mode is useful, if you wish to grind some experience points and earn some nifty loot. At some point after a wave of enemies, the player will be offered the option to accept offered loot, or to risk continuing, in order to win something even better. So, it’s basically an all-or-nothing system. Sounds pretty interesting and adds plenty of replay value to the game.
Speaking of replayability, do you like New Game Plus modes in video games? Well, guess what? Darksiders II has one! Not many details on New Game+ are available at this time, but I assumed that it will consist of items, experience, weapons and armor carrying over, with additional content available in the second playthrough, with perhaps stronger/more enemies.
