Articuno, Zapdos & Moltres Featured in Upcoming Legendary Battle Deck
Today, we learned that three new battle decks will launch this November, the Legendary Battle Deck.
Featuring the Legendary Birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, each box includes two reprints of the Team Plasma EX cards from Plasma Storm. Additionally, since each bird has a type, the deck comes with a respective reprint of an Eevee evolution from Plasma Freeze.
For example, if you get the Zapdos themed Legendary Battle Deck, it will come with two Zapdos 2X reprints, and one Jolteon reprint. The featured cards are the following:
- WCC BLIZZARD 60
Does 10 damage to each of your opponent’s benched Pokemon (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon)
- WWCC FROST PRISON 80
If this Pokemon has any Plasma Energy attached to it, the Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed.
- FC DESTRUCTIVE FLAME 30
Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon.
- FFCC POWER FLAME 80+
If this Pokemon has any Plasma Energy attached to it, this attack does 40 more damage
- LC AGILITY 30
Flip a coin, If heads, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokemon during your opponent’s next turn
- LLCC POWERVOLT 80+
If this Pokemon has any Plasma Energy attached to it, this attach does 40 more damage
- CC VENGEANCE 20+
Does 10 more damage for each Pokemon in your discard pile
- FCC HEAT TACKLE 90
This Pokemon does 10 damage to itself
- C PIN MISSILE 20x
Flip 4 coins. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads
- LC ELECTRI-DEFUSE
If the Defending Pokemon is a Pokemon-EX, that Pokemon can’t attach during your opponent’s next turn
- C REFRESHING RAIN
Heal 30 damage from each of your Pokemon
- WC GOLD BREAKER 30+
If the Defending Pokemon is a Pokemon-EX, this attack does 50 more damage
Although some of these cards can be pretty strong in standard decks, such as Flareon with its Vengeance attack, there are no details confirming whether or not the reprints will be usable in the current rotation. If we base off of the latest Battle Deck (Keldeo & Rayquaza), we can conclude that it won’t be. However, those two came with very interesting staple cards and trainers that were suitable for standard play.
Will the Legendary Battle Deck feature the same? Stay tuned to find out exactly what will be inside those decks!
