System Shock Remake Shows Promise

After getting a hold of the rights to the System Shock franchise, developer Night Dive unveiled footage of the game’s remake to Polygon.

Speaking with Polygon, Night Dive CEO Stephen Kick explained that in order to bring the System Shock remake to life, contact with the original team has been made.

“We have been in contact with members of the original System Shock team and any future iterations of the System Shock games,” said Kick. “And by this I mean both new titles in the series as well as major updates to the existing games, will be very true to the spirit of the originals.”

We don’t know for sure to what extent this collaboration is, and we surely don’t have any more details than a few pictures, which you can find on Polygon’s article here. However, it was confirmed that Robert Walters, a concept artist from the original game, is on board.

Compared to the original game, the theme seems to be well in place and the environment looks fantastic and accurate to the series, which comes to no surprise considering the alliance they made. Night Dive also revealed that the remake is being developed thanks to Unity.

Make sure you stay tuned for any more updates on the game.
