Set to take place a little later this year, MIGS17 announced earlier today their renewed partnership with CMF (Canada Media Fund) and Export Québec.
The CMF is a not-for-profit corporation that has been working closely with important companies to support the Canadian television and digital media industries. They help with funding through two streams; a support that has, over the years, helped improve both industries strive. For the gaming industry in Canada, the CMF has invested 98.8 million for its growth. This year again, the CMF will be providing immense support to MIGS.
As for Export Québec, they are responsible for bringing in new international representatives of the gaming industry at MIGS. In 2016, 70 were welcomed to the show.
“This year again, we are delighted to work in collaboration with Export QC and their network of international trade commissioners to bring to Montréal a wide variety and number of publishers, IP-Brand owners and investors from all around the world to meet with talented and innovative game developers and studios attending this year edition of MIGS.”
In addition to renewing with the two major corporations listed above, MIGS17 also announced that they will be event partners of Play NYC, New York City’s first and only game convention. The show is set to take place on August 19 and 20 at the legendary Terminal 5 concert hall in Manhattan. Over 100+ developers will set up on three floors, transforming the venue into NYC’s “most playable building”.
MIGS shares that Play NYC expects:
- 5000+ attendees
- 100 booths (studios and publishers)
- 20 talks and panels featuring key companies such as Google, Microsoft, Square Enix and more
- 3 floors of playable games (PC, consoles, virtual reality, mobile, etc.)
