Video Games Live creator Tommy Tallarico addressed the public; the show is doing good and the plans for next year are already in motion.
Video Games Live is a video game orchestra/rock show created and directed by Tommy Tallarico. The show took place this year in amazing venues across the globe. The end of 2016 concludes the 16th year of operations – it “ended up being one of our most exciting years so far,” said Tommy Tallarico.
For next year, 20 new shows have been announced!
“We’ve already announced 20 new shows around the world and currently most of them are on sale now. We’re returning to some places we’ve been and a lot of places we’ve never performed before.”
Video Games Live has great international success. Selling out shows is just a proof that the fans enjoy the work that was put into making an orchestra/rock show featuring video game music.
“One of the biggest highlights in 2016 was performing 2 SOLD OUT shows at the Bird’s Nest (National Olympic Stadium) in Beijing, China back in June! Over 30,000 people a night! It was the biggest stage and production we ever did! We even had synchronized lit water fountains around the stage! I just uploaded a clip from our Street Fighter II performance for everyone to see.”
Also, as a mean of funding for his albums, Video Games Live turned to Kickstarter for the 3rd successful time.
“Another huge success for us was our 3rd successful Kickstarter campaign which yielded our 5th symphonic album (LEVEL 5). This was by far our best album to date and still holds a perfect 5 star rating on Amazon & iTunes with tons of reviews. Over 250 musicians from around the world came together during the process to create something very special! The last song on the album… “The Legend of Zelda – A Celtic Link” is being heralded as “the greatest Zelda arrangement ever created!”
2016 was also the year that the Online Store was put into motion. There, you can find tons of cool and exclusive items, such as Canvas Prints, that aren’t even available when you attend the shows. Since the Holiday Season is upon us, you can check it out. It is a great online shop for gift ideas as well.
A total of 53 shows in 17 countries across 4 continents were played. “We spent over 50 days just in China alone,” said Tallarico.
“Thank-you so much for your continued interest and support of Video Games Live! 15 years is a LONG TIME and it wouldn’t be possible without YOU!” – Tommy Tallarico
