PlayStation Experience 2016: A Strong Lineup for the PS4

This time around, Sony closed the door on the 2016 year with their exclusive event, the PlayStation Experience. In case you have missed anything, here are the announcements that were made.

Below is a recap made of mainly video trailers of the announcements Sony made during the PlayStation Experience 2016. It was held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, and streamed online for thousands, if not millions of viewers. The broadcast introduced quite some new games, which ends up being a nice lineup for Sony’s PS4 game console.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Breaks The Ice

To start things off strong, the first series that was put under the spotlight is none other than Uncharted with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Unlike previous titles, the main protagonist here isn’t Nathan Drake, but Chloe Frazer. She made an appearance back in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and is now back for more action.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite…Finally!

Remember playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360? Well, after years of waiting, a new title was announced: Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

The trailer puts four characters in the spotlight: Ryu, Mega Man (from Mega Man X), Iron Man and Captain Marvel. For those familiar with the series, Captain Marvel is new to the game. Also, what is interesting about the teaser is that only four characters are fighting each other in a tag 2 vs. 2 match. Could this hint that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will go back to its roots and offer 2 vs. 2 gameplay?

As a bonus, it was confirmed that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is now available on PS4.

Wipeout Is Back & Faster Than Ever

PlayStation 4 already has a hype lineup and to add dressing to the salad, yet another blockbuster title was announced: Wipeout. Next summer, Wipeout Omega Collection will be out and fans can have their dose of nostalgia at super high speed.

Returning on console is the one, the only, Crash Bandicoot in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

In 2017 – no official release date has been confirmed yet – fans can go on their PS4 and enjoy classic Crash Bandicoot games.
