We often hear about Twitch streamers being raided during their live streams, but this individual wasn’t a target of officials, but of Death.
Sad news reaches us this morning involving Twitch streamer Brian Vigneault (a.k.a. Poshybrid). This weekend, the father of three was undergoing a 24-hour charity livestream when all of a sudden, after leaving the stream for a few minutes to grab a smoke, was declared dead by the Virginia Beach Police Department.
The weekend started off perfectly. The idea was to stream and raise money for various charities, such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, reports Kotaku. Vigneault was part of a gaming clan known as FAME. During his stream, he left the camera to grab a smoke and apparently never came back. Later, the detective confirmed the death of the father. A post was issued on the official FAME Facebook page:
“Sad news from Virginia beach, one of the most famous NA streamers and a member of our clan Poshybrid has passed away at the age of 35, we just can not find words to describe how sad is this moment for all of us and for sure this game will not be the same without the legend. Maybe the saddest lines can not really be written, and the saddest thoughts can not really be uttered, let’s all hope that he is in a better place right now and may his soul Rest in Peace, he will never be forgotten… a person who stays in our hearts never dies…”
Following the events, Vigeault’s Twitch channel was declared to be a “memorial channel” by the moderators. There, the chat is filled with respects and memories being shared.
This isn’t the first time that we hear about gamers passing away during long period of gaming time. Is isn’t clear whether or not gaming was a cause of death to this 35-year-old man, but the IMGMR team would like to take this time and remind you to take some breaks once in a while.
