Metacritic’s top five best games of all times has been set and unchanged for the past decade, but now that Breath of the Wild reviews are out, the list updates.
The embargo is lifted and Breath of the Wild reviews are scourging in like hot cakes. The reviews point towards what can be the next best Zelda game and more. For the past decade, Metacritic’s top five best games of all time list consisted of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64), Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 (PS), GTA IV (PS3), SoulCalibur (DC) and GTA IV (X360). Since April 29, 2008, the date on which GTA IV released, the list remained set and unchanged. Today, it is a proud day for Nintendo and Zelda fans for having the latest Zelda game, Breath of the Wild, break that top five and push its way in it.
Metacritic is the number one reference for video game ranking. The site also covers movies, TV shows, music and more. For Breath of the Wild, around 60 media critics shared their score on the game, with zero mixed and/or negative marks.
At the time being, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) holds the number spot as the best game of all times. Since Breath of the Wild comes out tomorrow, we are still expecting to see reviews come in. Could it be that Breath of the Wild will overtake Ocarina of Time and claim the title of Metacritic’s best game of all time?
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch definitely is a contender for best game of the year, as well as best game of all times. The game offers a unique and refreshing gameplay experience that brings back the series on top. IMGMR is currently working on a review of the game in question, so we ask you to keep an eye out for any updates.
