It is sad to share to our readers that voice actor Kazunari Tanaka passed away earlier this week at the age of 49.
Confirmed on Tuesday, the Aoni Production talent agency announced on their website the sad news. The actor, at the age of 49, passed away due to a hemorrhage in his brain stem.
Tanaka-san was very active when it came down to voice acting. He had worked on various anime series, and has also participated in roles featuring video games. Tanaka-san lent his voice to famous anime such as:
- Haikyu (Keishin Ukai)
- Planetes (Hachimaki)
- Marmalade Boy (Tsutomu Rokutandou)
- Hell Teacher Nube (Katsuya Kimura)
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (Shinichiro Tamaki)
- Freedom (Dorowa)
- Soul Hunter (Kou Hiko)
- Tenshi na Konamaiki (Ichiro Fujiki)
- Brave 10 (Miyoshi Seikai Nyūdō)
- Gintama (Kato Ken)
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny (Olson White)
- Majin Bone (Kengo Ryūjin)
As far as his work goes, he has also lent his skills to games such as Persona 5 and JoJo’s Bizarre Aventure: All Star Battle.
Due to this unfortunate news, the performance called “Buddy Bear present Kuma no Yu Sonic” has been cancelled. The performance in question was set for the 22nd of October. Also, as far as it goes for Haiku’s 3rd season, a replacement has yet to be announced.
The producer stated that “since it is sudden”, adjustments “for the future” will be made.
